Terms of Use and Membership Terms

Effective date: October 16, 2026

These terms apply to your use of ablecitizen.ca and any Able Citizen resources, training, community, or membership, offered by 2476871 Ontario Limited ("Able Citizen," "we," "us"). By using the site or buying a membership, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to buy a membership. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account. Memberships are for one person and may not be shared.

2. Memberships and pricing

  • Standard pricing: $49 CAD/month or $490 CAD/year, plus applicable taxes.
  • Founding Membership: $39 CAD/month plus applicable taxes. Founding enrolment closes at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on December 31, 2026.
  • Founding rate rule: Your founding rate stays locked for as long as your membership stays continuously active. If you cancel, or your membership ends because of failed payment that isn't resolved, the founding rate ends. If you rejoin later, you'll pay the standard price at that time.
  • Partner promotions: Some founding members who join through an eligible partner invitation receive their first month free. After the free month, the founding rate of $39 CAD/month applies automatically unless you cancel before the first charge.
  • We may change standard pricing for new members. We'll give current members at least 30 days' notice by email before any price change affects them, and a price change will never apply to a locked founding rate while it remains active.

3. Auto-renewal

Memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) and are charged to your payment method on file until you cancel. Payments are processed by Kajabi Payments (powered by Stripe). If a payment fails, we may retry it and may pause or end access until it's resolved.

4. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from your account settings or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation stops future renewals, and you'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Except as described in section 5, we don't give refunds or credits for partial periods.

5. Refunds

  • New monthly members: You can request a full refund within 14 days of your first payment. This applies once per person and only to the first payment.
  • Annual memberships: You can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase.
  • To request a refund, email [email protected] within the 14-day window. Refunds go back to the original payment method, and your access ends when the refund is processed.
  • Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

6. Not professional advice

All Able Citizen content, including training, the Household Audit, challenges, community posts, and contributions from specialists, is general information for educational purposes. It is not professional, medical, legal, financial, or emergency-services advice, and it doesn't replace advice from a qualified professional who knows your situation. - In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. - Consult a doctor or qualified health professional before starting any exercise program, especially if you have a medical condition, injury, or are pregnant. Stop exercising and seek help if you feel pain, dizziness, or shortness of breath. - Follow manufacturer instructions, local laws, and official guidance from authorities when storing fuel, food, water, or equipment, or using heaters, generators, or tools. - You're responsible for your own decisions and for how you apply any information.

7. Community conduct

Our community works because people treat each other well. When you participate, you agree to: - be respectful, and not harass, threaten, demean, or discriminate against anyone; - keep it non-political and on topic; - not post anything illegal, dangerous, hateful, sexually explicit, or that encourages harm; - not spam, advertise, or solicit members without permission; - not share other members' personal information or posts outside the community; and - not present yourself as a licensed professional unless you are one, and not give advice that could put someone at risk.

We may remove content and suspend or end accounts that break these rules, without a refund in serious or repeated cases.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and share it within the Able Citizen platform for running the community. Please don't post anything you don't have the right to share.

9. Intellectual property

All site and member content, including text, videos, worksheets, challenge names (such as OP-STD series titles), graphics, and the Able Citizen name and logo, belongs to Able Citizen or its licensors. Your membership gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the content for your own household. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, or publicly post it without our written permission.

10. Changes to the service

We may add, change, or remove content and features, including planned offerings like in-person training, coaching, and specialist contributors. Planned features are not guaranteed by any particular date.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: - the site and content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind; - Able Citizen is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from your use of or reliance on the content; and - our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

12. Indemnity

You agree to cover Able Citizen for claims arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site or community.

13. Termination

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. You may stop using the site and cancel your membership at any time.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, unless the consumer protection law of your province says otherwise.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version with an updated effective date and email members about material changes. Continuing to use the site after changes take effect means you accept them.
